Tata Coffee Ltd.   (TATACOFFEE)

Tata Coffee Limited (TCL) is the largest Coffee Plantation Company in Asia with estates located in Coorg, Hassan & Chickmagalur districts of Karnataka. The Company also grows Pepper and Cardamom in its Coffee Estates. The Company's Timber resources include Rosewood, Silver Oak and other miscellaneous trees. During the financial year 2000/2001 TCL acquired a contiguous Coffee Estate in Coorg district of 534 Hectares namely 'Coovercoolly estate'. With this, the current area under Coffee is around 8000 Hectares producing over 9000 Metric Tonnes of Coffee annually. Both the Robusta and Arabica varieties of Coffee are grown in the estates. As a part of its plan to optimize the utilization of Company's captive Timber resources (which is sustainably harvested every year as a part of the Estate Cultural practice and maintaining the ecological balance) the Company has entered into Timber Value Addition Industry for manufacturing Plywood and Block Boards with the brand name 'TATA CONSWOOD'.
